Lavender Sunset
soft pastel on Lux Archival
11” x 14”

Hale Street, sold
soft pastel on LaCarte
25” x 19”

I try to re-create a feeling in my paintings rather than what I actually see. There is room for individual interpretation and although most of my landscapes are impressionistic and expressive, some paintings border on the abstract.

Zen Sunrise, diptych
alcohol ink & encaustic on panel
6” x 48”
Field of Dreams
oil stick & encaustic on board
30” x 40”

Whether the inspiration is a literal place or a feeling from my imagination, these are the colors that never fail me, they translate the beauty in the silence and tranquility of nature, as well as the cycle of life in days and nights accounting for the passing of time, more accurate than any words.
