Change

So much has changed since my last blog post…. I vacationed in Israel this past July and now there is a war that has shattered some of the communities we visited. I traveled with my best friend who is now my husband (and an Israeli citizen) and we have been glued to the news.

My creative juices were overflowing with joy when we first came back – hiking Red Canyon was a highlight for me – but now I am on pause as the war continues.

Weekly pastel classes have resumed at the North Shore Art League in Winnetka and my first demos were inspired by the desert and hiking in Israel.

More change…

My husband Jon lives in Green Bay, WI and after the new year I’ll be moving and living there full time. I’ve already been exploring the local arts community which has led me into Door County. I have several teaching opportunities in the works and will be posting details as they become available.

Discovering the beautiful Wisconsin landscape has been a joy and I have spent wonderful days re-connecting with nature. My greatest inspiration always comes from the places I visit and the desire to re-create with paint the way it felt being there.

Whitefish Dunes State Park struck a cord, the dunes reminded me of Cape Cod and the years I lived in New England. The sand was clean and smooth, the beach grass and blowing wind felt like Truro, MA.

I haven’t had time to process all of the amazing day trips we have taken in the surrounding Green Bay area. I know there will be many new landscape paintings to come. I am thrilled to be living so close to wide open spaces, fields and lakes, the Fox River, and Door County.
